The situation at the state border on September 16

In order to cease fire and prevent the escalation of the conflict, telephone conversations were held between the Director of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Ularbek Sharsheev, and the Commander of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan Colonel General Rajabali Rahmonali. During the talks, the heads of the border agencies agreed on a ceasefire from 10:00 a.m. for a meeting. However, the Tajik side continues shelling the Kyrgyz positions.

Starting at 8:30, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic demands a ceasefire and negotiations. However, neither at 8:30 nor at 10:00 the Tajik side fulfilled the agreements.
