Then from 12:30 pm to 12:35 pm, the Tajik side shelled positions and units of the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry’s Internal Troops in the Tort-Kocho area of Batken District.

The exchange of fire has now ceased.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
